Today was moving day for Levi and Andy so me and Kathy woke up early and trucked on over to partake in the festivities! Here are a few pictures from the extravaganza.

It took us 3 hours to load and 30 minutes to unload...next year I'm only coming to unload!

I have been anxious to put our home back together since our plans to move fell through back in February. We sold so much stuff that we have a couple of baron rooms that need re-decorating. My least favorite is the dining room. I hated our previous furniture so I wasn't so sad to see it go but at least it was something to get us by until our budget allowed greater things. Needless to say it turned into Charley's play room for the past 3 months and I couldn't handle it anymore.

My mother in law gave us a table some years ago that we intended to go in the basement but it seemed like I could make it work in our dining room for now.

I don't have "before" pictures of the chairs I bought but I got them off of craigslist and was able to re-upholster them in a nicer fabric that would somehow match.

Here is the before of the pedestal to the table...painted white I thought I would strip it and then stain it.

I really love the chairs. I know they are not the exact same color as the table but in person I think its a nice contrast.

So last night I got a phone call from one of my neighbors asking if Justin wouldn't mind coming over to take care of a snake. We get this kind of call on a regular basis and Justin is always willing to oblige. Normally he just puts the snake back in the woods and is on his way....normally.

As you can see by the video he kept this one. He has been "promising" Charley (even though she doesn't understand) that she can have one. He said this one is "just the right size"...how special. Are you catching my sarcasm?

Anyway, thats really not even the exciting part. The really fun stuff happened this morning when we returned from the pet store with an array of pet snake supplies to find the snake MIA!!!

Gone! Out of his make shift cage...NO WHERE TO BE FOUND!!!

The thoughts running through my mind....

1. I have to sleep here tonight not knowing where this thing is

2. What if he dies and we don't find him but rather only smell him

3. My chest is literary going to explode from anxiety

so many thoughts I couldn't think straight

This went on for about an hour when Justin went downstairs to get his tools so that we could start dismantling the cabinets I picked up a bag of toy blocks and WHA LA! There he was.

Poor little guy I actually felt bad for him.

Anyway, he is safe now in his new little home and Justin and Charley are two happy campers.

I have been busy the past couple of weeks (with the help of Aunt Kathy and Justin) working on a play kitchen for Charley. Kathy sent me link to a really cute idea...a play kitchen made from beside tables.

I bought this itty bitty fridge off craigslist...isn't it cute?

I LOVE IT !

I know I missed a few steps in the picture process but it was hard to keep up. I bought a plastic bowl for the sink and a "J" elbow from Home Depot for the faucet. I spray painted both of those silver along with the burners for the stove and the handle for the oven door. Kathy bought some really cute drawer pulls for the sink and stove. Justin did all the technical work and Kathy helped me paint and find accessories and I made the curtains.

It was a fun project, I know Charley loves it.

We spent the morning in north Georgia at Burt's Farm picking pumpkins and eating fried apple pies. What a great tradition we have started. Next year we know to pack a lunch and to go early if we want to go on the hayride!!! Charley thoroughly enjoyed herself and we got some great pictures.

Every night at the dinner table Charley looks at us like why on earth do we get a shinny thing to put in our mouth and she doesn't? So to amuse her...and myself... I got her a fork and she could not have been happier. She actually did really well with it.

This doesn't look much different but if you look close you can see that they moved my Crepe Myrtle. The Hydrangea will get moved as well...I guess maybe tomorrow. The potted thing under the window is a Japanese Maple that managed to stay alive. (I planted it about 4 years ago and never looked at it again)

This is the really exciting part! We will have a place to play now....YEAH!

The sod and stepping stones will be installed on Tuesday and then I get to do some planting this weekend.

Charley's 6 Week Birthday

Charley is growing so fast. I thought from day one that she would walk early, talk early, and in gerneral be a brilliant girl. I just never thought her first word would come at 6 weeks. Let me recap...

10/16/08
5:45 a.m. Charley wakes up wanting a much needed bottle
6:00 a.m. Charley is returned to her crib and mom tip toes away to return to her comatose state for another 2 hours...or at least hopes that will be the case.
6:45 a.m. Charley begins to fuss, Justin gets up to get ready for work, and mom sings to herself "hush little baby dont say a word" hoping that makes Charley go back to sleep.
6:46 a.m. Mom realizes Charley is in fact not awake but just talking in her sleep/dreaming
6:47a.m. Justin calls out from the bathroom and asks Mom something to the effect of "do I need to go get her?
Mom: "no she's not awake"....I am clearly trying to sleep here!
Justin: "OH Really? " With quite the perplexed sound in his voice
Charley: "grunt" "grunt" "whaaaahhhhhh"
Charley: Pause
Mom: Thinks to herself...."ahhh silence"....see I knew she was not awake
Charley: "HELLO" with quite the attitude I might add
Mom: thinking to herself "did she just say hello?" "hahaha"
Justin: calling out from the bathroom "did she just say hello?"
Mom: Yes! bahahaha!
Justin: "hello, come get me" she says!
Charley: Whaaaahhhh
Mom: Pulls herself from her warm bed and gets the sleeping child...all she wanted was to be cuddled!

This definately will be a story for the baby book!

In honor of Charley's one week birthday we decided it was time to graduate her to her crib.

She has been in her bassinet for the past week in our room and we thought we might all sleep a little better if she were in her own room. She did great!

Charley Morgan DeMone was born on September 4th at 7:27 p.m. She was 8 pounds 5 ounces and 20 inches long.

Yes that's right I feel completely "certified" to birth a child now that I have sat through an 8 hour class instructing me ...or uh, horrifing me...on childbirth!

Someone...Im guessing the same someone who should have told me about the red paint...should have told me to go to this class prior to the decision of having children!

Needless to say..I guess it was helpful. Justin and I had some good laughs and he enjoyed seeing the expressions on my face... im sure!

So I thought I would give my brown...er black...thumb another chance to prove me wrong. I have always wanted to be a gardener, maybe it has something to do with patients (that thing I was not given nor learned to develop) as to why I have not succeeded at it...oh yeah and that manual labor problem.

So here it is the begining of what could be a beautiful garden! Or just a couple of tomatoe pots.

Me and mom picked these up the other day and they were not growing on my kitchen counter so I thought I better help em out. Check back weekly to see how Hazel and Grettle are progressing.

I get fun little dittys in my e-mail from a website for hairstylist and I thought this was too fun not ot post.

It’s Fashion Week in New York, which means packs of weedy models are subsisting on Red Bull and cigarettes. As for the rest of us, we may not be walking for Heatherette, but it’s still diet as usual. So here are our diet tips: 1--If no one sees you eat it, it has no calories. 2--If you drink a diet soda with a candy bar, they cancel each other out. 3--When eating with someone else, calories don’t count if you both eat the same amount. 4--Foods used for medicinal purpose have no calories, including chocolate used for energy, wine for lowering blood pressure and ice cream to fight depression. 5-- Cookie pieces contain no calories, because breakage causes the calories to leak out. 6--If you eat food from someone else's plate, the calories don't count.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!

Im Pregnant!

Come September of 2008 we will celebrate our 2nd anniversary and the birth of our 1st child!

We have our 1st Dr.'s appointment on January 11th. Im told I will get to give lots of blood and have our 1st ultasound....how exciting.
